MUSIC LABS TEACHER
Chelsea Asmus
Ms. Asmus is thrilled to join the CBEA Community as the Music Teacher this year! She holds her Bachelors in Music, with emphasis in Voice Performance from the University of Alaska, Anchorage (go Seawolves!) as well as certifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to adults from the TEFL Online Institute in Chicago, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Children from Columbia’s Teaching College. Ms. Asmus has performed and taught around the globe. Her time abroad includes spending two years in China teaching and developing curriculum for Disney. She is a barbershop quartet and chorus nerd, having coached and competed with groups around the world. She has directed 3 choruses–men’s and women’s–in international competitions and taught marching and winter percussion ensembles for Heritage High School in Littleton, CO. When Ms. Asmus is not making music with her favorite classes, she is an ice hockey referee, zamboni driver, and she sings, dances, and acts with a musical theater improv troupe.
