4TH GRADE TEACHER
Emily Vanhaitsma
Emily is thrilled to teach fourth grade this year at Clara Brown! Emily was born and raised in southeast Michigan, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Elementary Education and a focus in math, before moving to Colorado a year ago.
Outside of the classroom, she loves hiking, camping, climbing, and learning guitar! She is passionate about anti-racist and anti-biased education, and loves holding class dialogues around these important issues. She is often seen dancing with her students, playing the ukulele,o r making jokes that only she thinks are funny. Working with children and delighting in the ways they view the world, and learning from them, is what makes Emily love her job!
