SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
Melissa Sumner
Melissa is excited to join the CBEA team as the special education teacher! She has been in special education for 15 years. She began her career working in the Bronx, NY at a day treatment center for students with emotional disabilities. She moved to Colorado in 2012 and has served as both a special education teacher and special education teacher coach in APS. Melissa is currently pursuing her law degree at the University of Denver with the intention to become a stronger advocate for students with disabilities and their families. Melissa is a proud mom of 3 boys (ages 1, 5, and 8) who keep her and her husband busy when she is not at work or school!
